Hi, I'm Mel - Founder of The Yoga Swan
This space was born from a profound realisation of just how precious time is. That clarity became the spark I needed to finally follow my heart and share the practice that had already become a deeply rooted part of my daily life: yoga.
After the loss of two beautiful souls I had grown close to over the years, I could no longer ignore the pull to teach, support, and guide others. Their passing reminded me of the importance of living with intention - and helping others do the same.

The Studio & Beyond
For over a decade, The Yoga Swan has been a private studio nestled in the heart of North Weald - a calming sanctuary where nature gently holds us through every season.
Now, we’re expanding beyond the studio walls. In late 2025, we’ll be launching our first global retreats, beginning in the sacred valleys of Spain - bringing our grounding practice to some of the world’s most peaceful, soul-nourishing locations.

Reconnect with What Matters
At The Yoga Swan, we believe yoga is more than movement — it’s a return to source, a path back to the truest version of yourself. Whether you’re joining us in the studio or across the globe, you’ll be supported with compassion, clarity, and care every step of the way.
We look forward to welcoming you on the mat — and into this beautiful journey of reconnection.

A Practice with Purpose
Since founding The Yoga Swan, I’ve been blessed to share this practice with so many wonderful people - each arriving with their own story, and many seeking a place of solace, clarity, or healing.
Yoga has become my anchor - not just for reconnecting with my own truth, but as a way to help others reconnect with theirs. Whether someone walks through our doors with anxiety, grief, depression, or simply a longing to feel more at home within themselves, my goal is always the same:
To hold space for healing, growth, and transformation.

The Jenna Wilkins Foundation
Mel’s connection to The Jenna Wilkins Foundation is deeply personal.
Julie tells us that she wasn’t sure what to expect when her friend took her to Yoga Swan. She’d hit rock bottom, had no desire to do anything and getting through the day was a major achievement. She’d lost her beautiful daughter, Jenna, 3 months previously and her heart was broken into a million pieces.
Julie says - "I expected a church hall with yoga mats and bright lights. The reality was something completely different. This wasn’t yoga as I knew it. It was so much more than that. A beautiful studio surrounded in crystals, deities and soft lighting. And then there was Mel".
Julie and Mel soon became steadfast and close friends.
Mel supported Julie following the tragic loss of Jenna to cancer. Jenna was a vibrant, beautiful young woman with so much life ahead of her.
This experience compelled Mel to continue supporting Julie in a meaningful and ongoing way - through remembrance, honour, and the continuation of Jenna’s legacy. Mel has since worked closely with Julie, driven by a shared purpose: to ensure Jenna’s life was not in vain.
Through The Jenna Wilkins Foundation, they aim to bring support, recognition, and charitable action to help other young people and children - just as Jenna would have wanted. Her legacy lives on, changing and bettering more lives every single day.
